Gift Aid is a way of making your donation worth more at no extra cost to you.

If you complete a Gift Aid declaration, you allow us to reclaim from the Inland Revenue the basic rate tax already paid on your gift.  For instance, if you decided to give us £10, completing a Gift Aid declaration would increase the value of your gift to £12.82.

To enable us to claim Gift Aid, you simply need to be a UK taxpayer.  The Gift Aid declaration is a statement that you have paid sufficient tax (Income or Capital Gains) to equal or exceed the amount of tax being reclaimed.

If you pay tax at the higher rate, you can reclaim the difference between that and the basic rate on the donations you have made when submitting your tax return.
