Are you a trained accountant? Would you like to give some time to FSID? 

We need to recruit a new Honorary Treasurer. This is a voluntary post. We have a Finance Manager on staff who prepares accounts as well as undertaking the full range of other duties of the post. The Treasurer is a member of FSID’s Finance and Legal Committee, and reviews, along with the other Committee members, monthly and annual accounts and advises on a range of business and management issues, as well as financial issues. The Treasurer also serves as a Trustee and attends Council of Trustee meetings. The Council is the legally responsible body for all matters concerning the charity, and consists of a range of relevant professionals and also bereaved parents. The Chairman of the Finance and Legal Committee also serves as a Trustee on the Council.

Time commitment: the Finance and Legal Committee meets in London 5 times a year 4.30pm-6.00pm; Council meets 4 times a year 11am to 2pm. There are other occasions when the advice of the Treasurer and other Trustees is sought through email consultation; and the Treasurer and the Chairman of the Finance and Legal Committee also meet once a year with the auditors to review annual accounts. Ideally the post of Honorary Treasurer would be undertaken for at least 3 years.
