Justgiving

Justgiving

- Are you taking part in an event?

- Are you organising a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary, where you would like donations to FSID instead of presents?

- Have you lost a loved one and would like to collect donations in his or her memory?

We are working with Justgiving, the award-winning online fundraising service. On Justgiving, you can set up your own sponsorship or donations page to collect donations online from friends and family all over the world. They can sponsor you securely, quickly and easily with a credit or debit card.

Advantages of Justgiving

- Save time by emailing the web address of your personalised page to all your friends, family and colleagues at the touch of a button.

- Include a photo, personal message and updates on your training and fundraising progress. Your friends can also leave messages of support and encouragement

- Send an automatic thank you email to everyone who sponsors you

- Forget the hassle of carrying cash or cheques. The money you raise is transferred directly into our bank account and a record of every donation automatically sent to us.

- Raise money from people you wouldn't normally see in person

Setting up your page

To set up your page go to: www.justgiving.com/fsid , choose the event you are interested in (or set up your own if your event is not currently listed) and follow the instructions to build your page. It takes just a few minutes. Hint: you will need to set up your own event if you are taking part in a parachute jump, or organising a birthday or anniversary.

How it works

You email the link to your page to all your contacts. They can sponsor you directly online using credit or debit cards.

Every time someone sponsors you, you will receive an email notification. You will also have access to a page giving you a breakdown of the money you have raised through the site.

FSID will receive payments each week, along with a report detailing to whom the payments relate, so every donation will be added to your personal total.

Important!

Please inform us as soon as you have set up your page. Justgiving does not tell us your details, only the name of your page, so we won't know who has raised what and we won't be able to thank you.  Therefore, as soon as you have set up your page send an email to: fundraising@fsid.org.uk with the following details:

- your name
- your address
- what fundraising you are doing/why you've set up a page

Gift aid

Justgiving will also claim tax back from HM Revenue & Customs for every donation made, increasing the value of donations by 28% at no extra cost to the donor.

Sponsoring a friend

Do you want to sponsor someone who already has an online sponsor form?  Go to http://www.justgiving.com/fsid and simply enter his/her name. You can easily sponsor your friend/relative/colleague using your credit or debit card. You will also be able to see what other fundraising FSID supporters are up to.

Facebook and Justgiving

If you have a facebook profile, you can now add a justgiving application. Simply go to the edit applications section in Facebook and search for justgiving. All you have to put in is your justgiving webpage address.

Back on your profile page a link will appear to your justgiving page with a small version of your justgiving photograph, your current total, the charity you are supporting and a "Donate" button. This is great for raising awareness about what you are doing to all your contacts.
