Update from the Poole Group

Update from the Poole Group

Here is an update from the group's Vice Chair, John Kilminster:

Despite a quieter year we have still managed to get the work of FSID over to the public in the Poole area. We applied to the Swanage Carnival and Regatta committee asking if they would consider us as one of their chosen charities for 2007 and we were successful. The photo is of this cheque presentation with the carnival Queen and Princess and Chairman of the committee. All we had to do was help collect money on procession day. We also had a stall on one of the carnival days (Swanage Carnival & Regatta runs for a week). We were then invited to a presentation evening at the Bay View Holiday Park where we were presented with a cheque for £500, and asked to give a small speech on the work of the group and the Foundation as a whole.

We also had a stall at the 2007 Poole Park Fest which took place over the August Bank Holiday. This is an event attended by thousands of people from the local & surrounding areas.

For 2008 we have plans underway for a tribute band night on 2nd February
.

FSID would like to thank the Poole Group for their wonderful tireless hard work and fantastic dedication to our cause.
