Aston RAG

Every year Aston RAG raises thousands upon thousands of pounds for local, national and international charities and FSID is privileged to be one of their chosen beneficiaries.

Last year Aston RAG committee donated £70,000 to various charities from all over the world.  This incredible total was raised through a wide range of events from street collections (raids), to massive pub crawls and walking on fire. The annual events calendar includes the RAG Ball at the beginning of the year and two action-packed RAG weeks.

In the case of large events like the ball, the money raised goes into a big kitty along with the proceeds of other events to be distributed amongst the chosen charities at the end of the year. In January 2008, Aston RAG donated a fantastic £1,000 to FSID!

Aston RAG also like to don fancy dress and grab hold of buckets to participate in raids specific to a particular charity, like the one in Gloucester in April 2007, where they raised a fantastic £509 for FSID.

One Aston Raggie comments:

“Raiding is a great way to meet others and see the UK's sights, as well as raising loads of cash for charity.”

FSID would like to thank Aston RAG for all their hard work and fundraising efforts in support of our cause.
