On Saturday 20th October 2007 FSID supporters Matt and Michelle Sheehan held a charity rugby match, auction and disco in memory of their baby daughter Mia who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in January of this year.

The event, hosted by Keynsham Rugby Club in Bristol, kicked-off mid-afternoon when the entrance of Matt and his Rugby team was announced by the DJ. Following a minute’s silence, play commenced with music being played every time someone scored.

Before the First team match began, the Club chairman said a few words in honour of the event which was followed by an emotional moment as Michelle and her eight year old son unveiled a plaque and released some pink balloons in Mia’s memory.

Raffle tickets and balloons were on sale throughout the day, whilst an auction in the evening boasted an impressive list of prizes including a Chelsea football shirt signed by Frank Lampard, donated by supporter John Forbes, which sold for a fantastic £300.

Altogether the day’s events raised an incredible total of £6,000!

FSID would like to thank Matt and Michelle and everyone at Keynsham Rugby Club who attended the event for all their wonderful support.
