Football and fun

Football and fun

On Friday 11th May Tracy Maguire held a football tournament and fun day in the estate where she lives in Finsbury park, London, in memory of her son Kyron who died at 15 weeks old on 25th April, 1995.

The football tournament consisted of six teams assembled from the local police, fire brigade, Arsenal Positive Futures local youth team and coaches, and a group of mums from the estate!

The overall winners were unsurprisingly the Arsenal coaches, but the most celebrated victory of the night was when the mums beat the firemen!

The fun day was packed full of exciting events. There was a barbeque, bouncy castle, tombola, coconut shy and cake stall. Much of the estate rallied round to make the day a success, and although it rained all afternoon long that did not stop people coming out in force to enjoy themselves. Tracy comments:

"I was extremely pleased with how the day went and delighted I was finally able to throw my son a party. I would like to offer special thanks to Waitrose of Holloway, St Aloysius college and all the companies that helped to make this day a success"

To date Tracy has made over £1500 but is hoping that this figure will top an amazing £3000 once all the funds and sponsorship has come in.
