These are just some examples of how your support can make a difference:
£387
Will purchase a breathing monitor for CONI, which supports bereaved parents when they go on to have another baby, and parents whose baby has suffered an apparent life-threatening event. Monitors relieve the anxiety of parents as they quickly alert them to any irregularities in their baby’s breathing.
£1,250
Covers the cost of a Family Day Out for 100 adults and children. The days are held at family friendly venues across the UK, and give bereaved families the opportunity to receive support in a relaxed, informal setting.
£3,300
Enables us to provide training and support to 15 volunteer befrienders. Befrienders are parents who have lost a baby and then go on to offer support to other bereaved families.
£6,000
Will enable us to produce 86,100 copies of BabyZone. Promoting safe baby care through leaflets and cards is a simple and cost-effective way of ensuring that our life-saving messages reach parents across the UK.
£13,500
Funds the work of a Regional Development Officer for one year. Regional Development Officers work within the community to ensure that our baby health and safety information reaches parents and professionals. As part of our Responding When a Baby Dies campaign they also train and educate professionals on the benefits of working together when supporting bereaved families and investigating sudden infant deaths.
£21,000
Will fund the salary of a Helpline Advisor for a year. Our Helpline provides bereavement support to parents and families affected by the sudden death of a baby, and offers infant health advice to parents and professionals.
£42,000
Will provide one year’s funding for a research project investigating the causes and prevention of sudden infant death.
